Authors guidelines
Journal of Engineering Research and Reviews is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes original articles, reviews, and case reports on all aspects of engineering in English. The journal emphasizes that manuscripts must be submitted solely to them and must not have been previously published.
Key aspects of the guidelines include:
-
Copyright: Authors retain copyright of their work.
-
Manuscript Preparation: This involves specific formatting requirements, including page size, margins, font type and size, and the order of manuscript sections (title page, abstract, text, etc.).
-
Abstract: Manuscripts must include an abstract of 200-250 words, with specific formatting suggested for research articles.
-
Text: Specific word count parameters are provided for research articles and review articles, along with the required sections for original research and short communication articles.
-
References: The guidelines mandate the use of Index Medicus style for references, with detailed examples provided for book, journal article, and internet resource citations.
-
Tables and Figures: Specific formatting guidelines are given for tables (Times New Roman, Arabic numerals, legends) and figures (reproducible format, nonserif typeface, black and white background).
-
Submission: Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's online submission system.
The guidelines also state that Letters to the Editor are considered for publication.
Also, articles submitted to WAUJPAS must meet specific criteria that reflect the journal's dedication to research quality and originality. Among the requirements are:
1. Originality: WAUJPAS only accepts original research aligned with its editorial line. Submissions that have already been published in symposium or conference proceedings, or that are translations of foreign scientific journals, will not be accepted.
2. Responsible Authorship: For fields of knowledge where the journal does not have qualified reviewers within its editorial board, the editorial team will request from the authors "a letter to the editor containing five suggested reviewers and the actual contributions of each author." This measure, already adopted by international journals, aims to ensure appropriate and impartial evaluation of manuscripts.
3. Limitation: Recognizing the diversity of scientific contributions, WAUJPAS offers greater flexibility regarding the number of pages, figures, and references in its articles.
Plagiarism Policy
- Similarity Index - Plagiarism Ratio 5% - 10%: The document contains plagiarism or similarity at low risk. ACCEPTABLE
- Similarity Index - Plagiarism Ratio 11% - 25%: The document contains moderate plagiarism or similarity. ACCEPTABLE. Please revise your paper.
- Similarity Index - Plagiarism Ratio 25%+: The document contains high-level plagiarism or similarity. REJECT: The WAUJPAS Editorial Board will REJECT your paper
The use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation
WAUJPAS recognizes the potential of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies (“AI Tools”), when used responsibly, to help researchers work efficiently, gain critical insights fast and achieve better outcomes. It is possible that AI could have been used to improve language or assist with other editing functions and cannot be explicitly cited in the body of the manuscript. In such cases, we would recommend, that AI use be declared in the Declaration section of the manuscript.
Authors preparing a manuscript for WAUJPAS can use AI Tools to support them. However, the use of AI should not exceed 10%, with clarification of the points where it is applied in the declaration section.
