Editorial Review Policies

Wadi Alshatti University Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences employs a rigorous editorial review process to ensure the publication of high-quality, scientifically sound research. The following outlines the key steps and principles:

  • Initial Screening: Upon submission, the journal's editorial team assesses the manuscript for its suitability, including adherence to the journal's aims and scope, and compliance with basic formatting and ethical guidelines.

  • Double-Blind Peer Review: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are subjected to a double-blind peer-review process. This means that the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are concealed from each other to ensure objectivity.

  • Expert Reviewers: At least two independent expert reviewers, selected based on their expertise in the relevant field, evaluate the manuscript. Reviewers assess the manuscript's originality, methodology, significance, clarity, and relevance to the journal's scope.

  • Reviewer Recommendations: Reviewers provide detailed feedback to the editors, along with a recommendation, which may include:

    • Accept without revision

    • Minor revision

    • Major revision

    • Reject

  • Editorial Decision: The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding the manuscript's publication, taking into account the reviewers' comments and recommendations.

  • Revision Process: If revisions are required, authors are asked to address the reviewers' comments and submit a revised manuscript. The revised manuscript may be sent back to the reviewers for further evaluation.

  • Plagiarism Detection: The journal uses plagiarism detection software to ensure the originality of the submitted work.

  • Final Approval: Upon acceptance, the manuscript undergoes final editing and formatting before publication.

These policies ensure a fair, rigorous, and timely review process, maintaining the quality and integrity of the published research.
