Plagiarism Policy

Wadi Alshatti University Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences has a strict policy against plagiarism. Plagiarism includes presenting someone else's work or ideas as one's own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into one's work without full acknowledgment. This includes copying text, ideas, images, or data from another source, even from the author's own publications, without proper citation. The journal also considers the use of any artificial intelligence (AI) tools to generate content as a form of plagiarism.

The journal uses plagiarism detection software, including Turnitin, to screen submitted manuscripts. If plagiarism is detected, the manuscript may be rejected. If plagiarism is discovered in a published article, the journal may retract the publication, and the authors' institutions may be notified.

Plagiarism Policy

  • Similarity Index - Plagiarism Ratio 5% - 10%: The document contains plagiarism or similarity at low risk. ACCEPTABLE
  • Similarity Index - Plagiarism Ratio 11% - 25%: The document contains moderate plagiarism or similarity. ACCEPTABLE. Please revise your paper.

Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies Policy

WAUJPAS recognizes the potential of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies (“AI Tools”), when used responsibly, to help researchers work efficiently, gain critical insights fast and achieve better outcomes. It is possible that AI could have been used to improve language or assist with other editing functions and cannot be explicitly cited in the body of the manuscript. In such cases, we would recommend,  that AI use be declared in the Declaration section of the manuscript.

Authors preparing a manuscript for WAUJPAS can use AI Tools to support them. However, the use of AI should not exceed 10%, with clarification of the points where it is applied in the declaration section.
