2025-08-29

The Wadi Alshatti University Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences (WAUJPAS), committed to following the Criteria established by the Directory of Online Libyan Journals, is pleased to announce the official adoption of the Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) as part of its code of ethics and international guidelines.

DORA (https://sfdora.org), created in 2021, highlights the importance of improving methodologies for evaluating academic research outcomes, aiming to promote more effective and comprehensive approaches. RCUMC's initiative to embrace DORA demonstrates its ongoing commitment to editorial excellence and the promotion of ethical and quality scientific communication.

With the new guideline, scientific articles submitted to WAUJPAS must meet specific criteria that reflect the journal's dedication to research quality and originality. Among the requirements are:

1. Originality: WAUJPAS only accepts original research aligned with its editorial line. Submissions that have already been published in symposium or conference proceedings, or that are translations of foreign scientific journals, will not be accepted.

2. Responsible Authorship: For fields of knowledge where the journal does not have qualified reviewers within its editorial board, the editorial team will request from the authors "a letter to the editor containing five suggested reviewers and the actual contributions of each author." This measure, already adopted by international journals, aims to ensure appropriate and impartial evaluation of manuscripts.

3. Limitation: Recognizing the diversity of scientific contributions, WAUJPAS offers greater flexibility regarding the number of pages, figures, and references in its articles.
